Approaches and processes of environmental and heritage education in research projects - UNNE (2009-2020)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper provides a description of how processes of Environmental Education and Heritage Education have been addressed in research projects accredited by the General Secretariat of Science and Technology (SGCyT, in Spanish) at the National University of the Northeast (UNNE) during the period 2009-2020.
The objective of this work is to identify and analyze how environmental and heritage topics, in all their diversity, are included, along with their underlying paradigms, and the different perspectives that higher education incorporates in relation to these processes.
The methodology used was qualitative-descriptive, with techniques and methods based on bibliographic sources and databases extracted from the SGCyT of the UNNE. The methodological structure, organized into consecutive stages, was adopted from Fontal Merillas and Marín Cepeda (2011).
The results show the lack of integration of these themes in research, as only 5% of projects attempt to address these issues. It is noteworthy that Environmental Education processes are more closely linked to the fields of natural and biological sciences, while Heritage Education was observed predominantly in the field of Architecture and Urbanism.
