The population of Riacho He He, province of Formosa according to the last National census (1991, 2001 and 2010)

Abstract

Since time immemorial, there has been the interest in learning the number of people who inhabit a certain territory and currently “the demography is the science which studies the human population and is concerned about the dimension, structure, evolution and general characters, considered mainly from a quantitative point of view” (Welti, 1997, p.17). This research is aimed at inquiring about the population growth of Riacho He Hé and the objectives include analysing the population of Riacho He Hé, taking into consideration the last National Census of the National Institute of Statistics and Census of Argentina (from 1991 to 2010) to state the current rate of growth. The population censuses allow to learn the number of inhabitants in a country, a province or a city. In addition, they register the information regarding the number of houses, homes, services among others. For this research, the methodology involved the search, selection and analysis of bibliographic material, processing of the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC in Spanish) and the elaboration of several graphs and cartography representing the growth of the population in the town.
