The rubbish disposal management: a case study of the Barranquera municipality, province of Chaco

Abstract

The focus of this work is the study of the management and the disposal of the urban solid waste (RSU, in Spanish) in the municipality of Barranqueras. The objective is to assess the
conditions of the RSU management in the municipality of Barranqueras by means of an analysis of the information obtained through surveys and other techniques. The techniques included a bibliographic revision and a survey, the method applied is
mixed i.e., qualitative and quantitative. The issues within the municipality were identified through the use of processing, data analysis and observation for the environmental diagnose,
using an inductive method, the problem and objectives tree. It was applied the Leopold Matrix to carry out an environmental description of the work and action planning related to the improvement of the RSU management issue.
