Characteristics of the banana production in laguna Naineck, province of Formosa

Abstract

This field work focuses on an agricultural activity which is carried out in Formosa since the 60’s. It has been relevant due to its commercialization in the regional as well as national fruit markets. After 10 years being in contact with farmers from Laguna Naineck and other influential zones, which report the highest amount of production, the information was collected through visits and conversations with producers. The collected data made a valuable
contribution to this research and the analysis of the history, production, and commercialization of the Formosenian banana, which has decreased over time due to environmental, social, and economic factors.
