Urban Transformations in the City of Formosa, 1930 to 1955 period

Abstract

The city of Formosa is the capital of the homonymous province and is located on the right side of the Paraguay river, on the northeast of Argentina, more precisely between south latitude 26° 11’ and west Longitude 58° 10’. The objectives of the present article are to identify the main urban transformations that took place in Formosa in the 1930-1955 period and to examine the economically more dynamic areas to determine the population concentration. To achieve the objectives, search from bibliographic sources and visits to the Archivo Histórico Provincial have been carried out.
