Abstract

The present work shows the tendencies in the geographical science from a critical and transforming point of view. Accordingly, we contribute from the state of the art an exchange of experiences in teaching, research, university extension and transference to our peers. The general objective is to promote the creation of a network of specialists who work on related topics and reinforce the functioning of the Geography Network from Public Universities. Therefore, specialists in geography as well as in teaching emphasise not only the knowledge but also the process, promoting the use of dynamic strategies based on the student’s reality leading to the broadened study of the environment and its preservation to achieve abilities, competences and skills. Taking into consideration all the aforementioned, we drew from the following line of studies:

-The role of Geography Didactics from the current educational politics in the

combination Teacher Training- Geography.

-Theories, epistemologies, methodologies and technologies of the geographic

information.

-The territory transformations, the conflicts and alternatives.

-The planning, management of the territory and public politics.

-Geography, transference and university extension.

To conclude, defending the geographic science in the Public University.
