Climate Impact in Rural Areas (Agriculture)

Abstract

Accepting the general idea that the increase in the gas emissions of the greenhouse effect bring about climate changes, studying the effects and impact on the economic activities like agriculture is becoming more and more important. This research is a consequence of the aforementioned ideas, since the rural sector belonging to the Macro Región Subtropical NE is mainly devoted to the agricultural production, which is their source of income. After studying the region paying attention to the offer and demand of agricultural products in the area, it was observed that the retailers, farming products return has decreased, both in the regional and the provincial market. As a consequence, retailers are obliged to meet the demand in neighbour countries or other region of the country. Both because of the production and the difference in prices. Another objective of the study is to understand how the agricultural producers react to the climate change and how they adapt to it, taking into account the technician’s advice about innovative technologies to meet the market demands with the agricultural production.
