The Argentina-Paraguay Border: A Contact Area between the Inhabitants of Formosa (Arg.) and Alberdi (Py).

Abstract

The city of Alberdi is located in the department of Ñeembucú-the Paraguay Republic between south latitude 26°11’ and west longitude 58°08’. This research is aimed at learning the causes that generate daily mobility between Alberdi and Formosa. To start with, we collected bibliographic sources and interviews to government agencies and applied surveys in situ to the inhabitants of the city of Alberdi. The dominant spatial dynamics in the Argentina-Paraguay border in the last decades is transitional. Nowadays, the socioeconomic relationships between Paraguayans and Formosans are more and more established and based on the services: the trade, health, education, etc. which allows the continuous contact among the population.
