A Look to the Past of the Potrero Norte Colony, Province of Formosa

Abstract

The present research demonstrates that in a spot of the province of Formosa there exists a place that is home to a handful of people with unspoilt human warmth and values. The general objective is to reveal the history of Potrero Norte Colony, its beginning and its population process. This project discloses the blurred stories, which are so fixed in the memories of many settlers, about the beginnings of the place. The methodology encompassed the stories of inhabitants of the place from earlier times. It is necessary to learn and understand the past, the present, the tradition and history of the town where we live since it is the man the creator of the history, which takes place in a time which remains materialized and obliges him to look back into the past to face joy, mistakes, behaviour and memories.
